The Fostoria Community Arts Council enters its eleventh year of serving Fostoria and the surrounding area as a strictly non-profit, volunteer organization. We are dedicated to our mission: to educate and enrich the Fostoria community through the coordination and promotion of the arts.
Since it’s inception, the Fostoria Community Arts Council has provided cultural events to Fostoria and allow the Fostoria area citizens a local venue for entertainment and creative activities. FCAC is proud that we presented the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling museum, “Museums on Main Street,” in 2003 and to help celebrate Fostoria’s sesquicentennial brought the Ohio Humanities Council’s Ohio Chautauqua 2004, to Meadowlark Park. Fostoria was only one of five communities in Ohio to present this old fashion tent show. During Fostoria’s Glass and Heritage Festival and the Railroad Fest, FCAC showcased artwork of area artist and Fostoria memorabilia. FCAC has brought entertainers to Fostoria through the Summer and Winter Concert series so a variety of music can be enjoyed local and perhaps a new or different musical style will be discovered by these free concerts. The FCAC has held a variety of art workshops for both children and adults throughout the years and will continue to hold a variety of arts workshops and contests for both children and adults to educate and enrich our citizens and to showcase area talent, our office gallery is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. –2:00 p.m. and from 5:00-7:00 pm. |
