from The Courier April 5, 2009
The band, under the direction of Jarrod Koskoski, will play pieces that represent a variety of music.
The band was formed in the mid 1990s under the direction of Dave Zoll, a former Fostoria Schools music instructor. The band performs several concerts throughout the year at various venues in and around Fostoria. Approximately 40 members participate in each concert.
Membership in the band includes a wide range of ages, from high school students through senior citizens. Skill levels range from moderate to advanced. There are no auditions for membership in the band, and placement in a section is determined by the section leader. On occasion, a specific section will be highlighted during a concert via an ensemble.
The band's repertoire includes marches, movie tunes, songs from Broadway shows, seasonal music, hymns and music from current trends.
